Sweden made an impressive start to its FIFA World Cup 2026 journey with a commanding 5-1 victory over Tunisia in Monterrey.

Yasin Ayari scored twice, while Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyökeres and Mattias Svanberg also got on the scoresheet as Sweden took control early and never looked back. Tunisia’s lone goal came through Omar Rekik.

One of the night’s standout moments came from Svanberg, who found the net just 17 seconds after coming off the bench — the second-fastest goal ever scored by a substitute in World Cup history. The result sends Sweden to the top of Group F and underlines its ambitions in the tournament.
