France arrived as the tournament favorites, but it simply wasn’t Les Bleus’ day as Spain defeated them 2-0.

Spain’s tactical tiki-taka masterclass left the French stars chasing shadows for most of the afternoon. Mbappé spent as much time voicing his frustration to the referee as he did threatening Spain’s defense, while Dembélé and the rest of France’s attack struggled to make an impact. La Roja controlled possession, dictated the tempo and never allowed France to find its rhythm.

A deserved victory sends Spain to the World Cup final, while France’s golden generation is left wondering what might have been.
