Argentina defeated England 2-1 to book their place in the World Cup final, coming from behind in a brutal semifinal worthy of football’s greatest rivalry.

It was a classic from the opening whistle. Every ball was contested as if it were the last.

England struck first and looked on course to manage the game, but their attacking spark gradually disappeared. The Three Lions became cautious, seemingly content to protect a one-goal lead, while Argentina grew stronger with every passing minute.

Led by 39-year-old Lionel Messi, Argentina never stopped believing. La Albiceleste completed a remarkable comeback, ending England’s World Cup dream and earning their place in the final.
